Several Australians have acquired human swine influenza through overseas travel. A small number of locally acquired cases have been confirmed in VIC and SA.

As always, check the NSW Health website (www.health.nsw.gov.au/publichealth/swine_flu.asp) frequently for the latest case definition and list of affected countries, which will change over time.

People who report influenza-like symptoms and meet the case definition for suspected human swine influenza are being advised to attend their local emergency department for assessment.
