The area served by the Division is diverse economically, socially and in the types of industry in which the community engages. Industry ranges from heavy manufacturing through defence and aviation to horticulture, viticulture to broad acre farming and stock breeding.

The Adelaide Northern Division has developed strategic alliances with a range of stakeholders. These include; Northern Metro Community Health Service , Salisbury Council, Northern Adelaide Region of Councils, Gawler Health Service, North Western Adelaide Health Service, Lyell McEwin Health Service, the Division of Medicine and the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes, Adelaide Womens and Childrens Hospital, the Emergency Service and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, GP Homelink, Support link and Care21/Northern Venture Co-ordinated Care Trials.

The Mission of the Adelaide Northern Division of General Practice is to promote and support the provision of high quality primary medical services to the community. Their vision is excellence, innovation, leadership and collaboration in the provision of primary medical services.
