| About: |
| Bayside Geneal Practice Network (formerly Central Bayside General Practice Association Ltd) is an urban Division in Melbourne's south. It is an innovative Division, emphasising integration and the promotion, enhancement and improvement of the role of the GP within the wider health sector.
The Division has been at the forefront of change, with highly successful Information Technology (IT) programs, the development of clinical decision support and a range of local projects involving integration and collaboration with primary, secondary and tertiary agencies.
The Division has a proven financial track record, delivering agreed project outcomes on time and within budget, whether the project is a small grant to establish an electronic referral service or a multi-million dollar, multi-state trial.
The Board of Management has taken a considered, reflective and responsive approach to the needs of members, balancing these against the long-term objective of placing GP members in the best possible position to benefit from the evolving primary health care system.
In 1999, the Division established a senior strategic management team that is capable of proving high level management, evaluation, research, planning and networking. This team works with existing program staff, Board of Management and external agencies to enhance the GP and Division role in the community.
The Board has established a process for ongoing quality improvement of governance, management and staff services. The Division has received funding to explore knowledge management strategies at the GP and Divisional level. |
