| Area Covered: |
| The Division covers an area of approximately 274,000 square kilometres. It encompasses four district health services (Innisfail, Tablelands, Cape and Torres) in their entirety and also overlaps the northern reaches of the Cairns District Health Service. With the exception of Cairns Shire, the Division covers all of Far North Queensland including Cape York Peninsula in its entirety. |

| The Far North Queensland Rural Division of General Practice is home to a total of 110 to 115 General Practitioners with approximately 70 working privately in group or solo practices. The goals of the Division are to promote the integration of General Practitioners more fully into the health system, and to advance the health and welfare of people in Far North Queensland.
Division policies and programs actively encourage GPs to develop stronger links with the public health role. |
