| The General Practitioners Association of Geelong, (The Geelong Division of General Practice,) mission statement is "To endorse and support the pivotal role of general practice in the health care of the region". This has been achieved by:
Providing a more integrated health service for the people of Geelong, initiating and developing programs of change in conjunction with health authorities in the region, including Local, State, and Federal Departments of Health.
Improving communication between General Practitioners, Hospitals, other health service providers by electronic means.
The Geelong Division has been able, through their strong community liaison network, made possible for GPs to work with many relevant community services.
The GP Association has a major emphasis on workforce, with short and long term strategies to recruit and retain workforce.
The Association provides support for GPs practice staffs in all areas including recruitment of GPs and Practice Nurses, GP Health and wellbeing and after-hours support. |
