| The Westgate Division of General Practice continues to provide effective and essential services to the communities of Hobsons Bay and Wyndham through a well structured practice support program, integration and collaboration with key stakeholders and the community.
The Division has a proven financial track record, delivering agreed project outcomes on time and within budget.
The Board of Governance has taken a considered, reflective and responsive approach to the needs of members, balancing these against the long-term objective of placing GP members in the best possible position to benefit from the evolving primary health care system.
The Division is a strong and mature participant in collaboration with the major health service partners within our two LGAs and our region with whom work is undertaken cooperatively and creatively , whilst having a clear understanding of the interests of the GPs whom the Division represents.
An essential and precious characteristic of general practices in the Westgate catchment is their wide diversity, according to their own particular interests and characteristics, and those of their practice populations. The problems, successes, styles, infrastructure and so on vary not only from practice to practice, but also between the doctors within a practice.
To nurture and preserve this diversity, while motivating and assisting them to choose where and how they make progress, and then helping them to implement it; the energetic Practice Visit Program formed a strong foundation for the implementation of systematic improvements.
In this demanding and challenging environment, we are fortunate that Westgate continues its tradition of strong leadership in both management and governance, robust organisational structures and financial management systems. This is the driver for the high morale, high stability, and high performance from each member of the team that is characteristic of Westgate.
The sound organisational structure of the Division, the truly representative and committed Board of Governance, stability of staff and an efficient financial management system creates a solid base and positive outlook for the future.
Teamwork is highly valued and encouraged within the Division to promote a harmonious and productive environment. |
