Adolescent Health
At ESDGP, we see value in properly researching, implementing and evaluating projects aimed at improving access to GPs by local youth. A major barrier to young people accessing services, apart from confidentiality and trust, is lack of knowledge of services and how to access them.
ESDGP is working towards improving the links between GPs and local youth services. We are setting up protocols for how this can occur. The aim is to remove the randomness from the first interaction between at-risk adolescents and the health system –this is a critical point at which a “good” consultation will have an enormous impact.
Youth Wellbeing Forum
The Youth Wellbeing Forum creates a means for young people to understand, communicate and act upon their own health needs.
Its main focus it's on promoting primary prevention, the encouragement of wellbeing and the avoidance of poor health choices, within a group of high-school students in Sydney, Australia.
